How do you clean a video cassette?

Question: The camera I use uses Cassettes. When I play my recorded video, the screen is messed up, you see the weird smudges, but the sound is fine. I am sure the cassette or camera is dirty, how can i clean it so it will work properly?
Answers: buy a video head cleaning tape/cassette, place it in the camera and be sure to follow directions on how to use it (as it can damage your camera). after cleaning, test it. and if not satisfied, you can do the cleaning again (but do not use the cleaning tape more than its recommended number of cycles per cleaning)

your cassette on the other hand might not be the problem if you only recorded on it twice or trice. better check recording, after cleaning, with the same tape and a new tape so you could compare.

if the problem persists, consult the service center as they are in best position to tell of what should be done to the camera.

glad to be of help
use a tape head cleaner or take it to a shop and pay them to do it.
