How can I clean a DV Tape?

Question: I have searched on the net, but failed, There are DV Head Cleaners, but not Tape Cleaning devices.

Can I use a DV tape rewinder as a cleaner?
Answers: I'm a pro videographer. There are no DV tape cleaning solutions out there. Generally nothing should touch the tape except the play and record heads of the camcorder. If you have a heavily soiled section of tape you can either wipe it VERY gently with clean bottled water and lint free cloth or splice out the section using splicing tape.

Rewinders will not clean your tapes. They can sometimes help with stiction, where the tape sticks to itself.

Thanks and good luck.
There are no products that can clean the actual tape media inside a DV cartridge. I'm assuming dust, powder or liquid got inside the cartridge. One thing for sure - if your DV cartridge is infected with foreign matter or debris - do not insert this into your camera - you will cause severe damage to the heads inside.
There is a product that might help you, It called Tape viewer ( It can just review or fast forward your Tape ) It just views your Tape but it cleans it too.

Hope it helps.
