How do you put videos on your computer from a camcorder than records on a tape? it doesnt work for me.?

Question: i got a new camcorder thats a jvc and it records videos on a tape and i cant get them on the computer and it would help a lot if someone told me how.
Answers: Look at purchasing the EZMaker USB 2.0 from AverMedia. I use it to copy from my Sony HandyCam, which also records on tape.

The AverMedia E-store sells this for either 40 or 50 dollars, depending on which version you prefer. You might find one on ebay for less.
ussually comes with USB cable and a software to handle the video
Most tape-based camcorders require you to capture video using FireWire. Here's a step-by-step tutorial with images showing you how to copy video from your camcorder to your PC:

FIREWIRE Cable!
On the JVC camcorder, the USB is for photographic SnapShots (Still-images only).

JVC usually has a 4pin-6pin cable requirement. Your PC needs to have a Firewire port also.

Unfortunately, they don't give you extras when buying that camcorder. Even their battery is just good enough . You may want to buy a 6hr batterty for it.
