I bought a Canon Mv800i DV Camcorder from UAE and am now moving to Canada. Is it advisable to bring it along?

Question: It operates on 220 Volts and is PAL system. Will it work there or should I sell it and buy a new one there? I bought it for CAD314 and someone is willing to buy is for CAD270. Can I get a camcorder of similar specs for the same price in Canada. Please advise.
