8mm film to video (or other current format)?
Question: I want to know how i can transfer my old 8mm film to video so i can edit it on my computer. I want to know where I can find the equipment to do it myself.
Answers: To convert 8mm film, you pretty much have to use a film transfer service. There are equipment that you can buy to do-it-yourself, but they are too expensive - unless you want to get into the business.
I transferring all my old super-8 films to DVDs about 1 year ago. Check if there's such a service near you - if not, there are many film transfer centers that you can send your film to - good luck.
Do you still have your camcorder?
If so, something like http://www.adstech.com/products/USBAV-70...
would be something I would buy.
