IWhat kind of movie camera should I invest in?
Question: I am planning on making a documentary..this is my first effort and I don't have tons to spend...what kind of camera should I look into that has sound and picture in which the quality of the end product would be good enough for television? I am an artist, not a technician or a photographer....
Answers: first of all, you HAVE to go tape (DV), DVD and HD just won't cut it.
Second, they have some pretty good / ok HD camcorders for about 1,000 USD. If you have about 3,000- 6,000 USD go for the prosumer type of camcorder, they are pretty small and can be hand carried and are perfect for a documentary. If you want TV quality try and get an HD camcorder. Good luck on your documentary
