Transfering CAMCORDER video to my COMPUTER?

Question: I have a Canon Elura 80

I have a USB Cable and I turned the camcorder on Network , and then plugged it in, but nothing happened. HELP!
Answers: The Elura 80 uses the FireWire connection to tansfer video.
you have to get a firewire card - and a DV cable , look on your camera for a dv out put , it should be the same as a USB conection , but half the size , with small bends on the top , and a sraight bottom , your USB , will get you photo's of the SD card thats it.
if you have a new computer there should be a firewire (1394)built in , so you might need a cable , go down to your local computer shop , and ask for a 1394 cable , but check to see what size your cam , and comp connections are.
