What kind of digital camera should I get?
Question: I'm going to Europe for a month this summer and I need a good camera that has high resolution, is light and can catch motion well. I'm not worried about how many pitures it can hold because I'm planning on buying several memory cards.
I'm thinking of the Cannon SD450. I saw it @ target for $299.99 is that a good deal?
Are there any cameras that would be better?
Should I get a video recorder insted?
Answers: I love my digital SLR. It is a little more costly, but the pics are amazing. I'm not advanced in anyway in photography, but can still get good results.
Nikon has some great mid-range cameras that you could also look into, just below an sLR amazing pictures as well.
If this is a once in a lifetime trip, you will want to be sure whatever you take is perfect, so be sure to get something good and get what you like the first time to avoid extra costs. Most pictures you will won't be able to take again, so you want them to be perfect.
I use both a camera and a camcorder, it gets bulky sometimes, but that way I can have the best of both. I usually travel with my family, so one takes the camera and one the video cam, so we cover everything, it works good.
But don't get one or the other and then rely on the capbability of it to do the other aspect. If you want mostly video, most cameras will have a still pic option. You will lose quality, but you can take the picture if you really want it . Likewise with the camera, most take vidoe, but you will lose quality.
I say get a good camera and get a good video cam that is small and light weight. Sometimes you can't use flash, sometimes you can't use video, this way you have both options available and won't ever be in the dark.
I was given an HP Photosmart 3.2 MP with auto focus and 3 x optical zoom for my birthday and I think it is great. I have used others but I find mine to be the best in terms of weight, user friendly features. It has a video option also that takes great videos. It has many other features that I haven't quite figured out yet. But, it also has a timer on it. I like it much better than any I have used or seen so far.
Also, for the price of your Cannon SD450, I think that is a good deal.
i would defenately recommend a working one
i tried to use a broken one recently, and was dissapointed
depends how much video taping you do, the videos taken on camera are okay outside, but poor indoors.
wearas the video cameras take good vidoes and i think good photos, but are bulkier and more expensive
here are some cameras you could consider
