Can you have a cell phone from one company and have the sevice from another company?

Answers: In some circumstances, yes. The issue to be checked out is whether or not the cell phone you have operates (is compatible) with/on the software the other carrier uses. There are different technologies that cell companies utilize to deliver service to your phone, ie. TDMA,CDMA,GSM, etc. Also, you need to find/have a phone that is unlocked . All this means is that the phone has been enabled via a software program to ignore its subsidy lock. A subsidy lock is simply a feature that cell companies put on their phones when they get manufactured that tells the phone it can only work on THEIR system. If you happen to be searching for phones on the internet, like on ebay, that's why you'll see tons of phones that are for sale that say unlocked in the sales caption. If you have a specific phone and specific carriers in mind, email me. I'll be happy to check it out for you ;o) Source(s) Experience - I have been a wireless technician for close to 14 years.

I don't think so. Phones from certain companies are designed to work with their equipment.

Hope this helps. :)
