I need help unlocking a cell phone?

Question: i bought a tmobile gsm v188 online and since my company is cingular i want to know if there is anyone who would have the code to unlock it since i don't want to pay an arm or a leg for it. the cellphone companies aren't much help if you don't buy the phone from them. thank you
Answers: It is not possible for you to use the T-Mobile cell phone with your Cingular account. Most of the newer model cell phones currently on the market contain a SIM card that links that phone to your account with the company. If you and your friend both have Cingular, and both of your cell phones have SIM cards in them, you could switch out the cards in the phones so that your friend's phone will work off your Cingular account, and vice versa. However, cell phones are set with a security feature that prevents SIM cards from other cell phone companies from working. For example, if you have Cingular and your friend has T-Mobile, and you switch out your SIM cards, then neither phone would work. I believe they do this as an incentive to keep people from switching to another company. Since you would have to purchase a completely new phone in order to switch companies most people would rather stick the with cell phone company they already have. Even though many carriers offer exactly the same model phones, each carrier puts a security feature into their model that prevents their competition from being able to successfully operate their phone.
i have a sprint but try putting in the buyer's social security # in it thats what i had to do or if its key lock just press a few buttons and it should tell u what to do.. if u still cant get it go to the tmobile store, they shouldnt pay u for just unlocking ur cell
You can't use a Cingular SIM card in a T-Mobile cell phone.
I have some good news and some bad news. The bad news is that your T-Mobile cell phone won't work with Cingular. The good news is that most cell phones have a 15 to 30 day return policy so you can get your money back on the T-Mobile cell phone you purchased.
