With the wifi usb for wii/ds can you go on the internet and how is its performance ?

Answers: There are three ways for you to get on the internet with your Wii. First if you wish to set your internet up as a wireless network at your home all you must buy is a wireless router. If you do not wish to do that all you must buy is the Nintendo Wifi USB Adapter (link below). You plug the USB adapter into your computer that is hooked to the internet. Put the software disk that it comes with in your computer drive and it should start automatically. Just follow the on screen instructions and you will be up and running in a few mintues. The Adpater basically provides a wireless signal from your computer allowing you to access the internet on your wii. The third way you can connect is by purchasing the the Nintendo LAN adapter that has been made for the Nintendo Wii. Just connect the LAN Adapter to your existing wired connection, plug it into the back of your Wii and you're set to play. All you need to do is connect the adapter right to your existing PC connection or DSL modem. It comes with a 6 foot patch cable to connect it. Then you just plug it into the back of your wii and you are good to go.
I have mine connected with a wireless router and it works great but any of these three methods should do the trick. Once you get it connected click on the wii shop channel and then on wii ware and download the internet channel. It will download the opera internet browser for use on your wii. It is free until the end of June but after that will cost 500 points. Once your are up and running you will be able to surf the internet, listen to music on sites like finetune, watch youtube and google videos, and even play free online arcade games on your wii console on sites such as www.wiicade.com. It is an extensive list of links to sites that are optimized for your wii including sites with tips, videos, music, and games. I also check my email on it. Internet for the wii rocks!!

The DS and Wii can both go on the internet (browse) and usually get the same performance as your normal internet speed. However, if you are browsing on your Ds, your Wii, and your PC, it will have to split your ceonnection into three, making it slower. Hope this helps. =D

Once you're connected to the net, go to the wii shop channel and choose software. Install the internet channel (took about 10 minutes for me to install on a 11Mbps wireless connection) and that'll install opera. Internet connection is decent, but clicking letters on the wiimote is a hassle, and not all webpages run. Hope that helps.
Keep in mind of the OS that you run on your pc. The USB wireless dongle does NOT work with Windows Vista (I tried the official Nintendo one and an off brand) neither works. Try buying a wireless router for your pc instead. I use a Belkin wireless router (Walmart $35) and it works like a dream!
for the wii it rocks
u can surf at fast speeds compared to the ds and u can play games at www.albinoblacksheep.com
the only prooblem is tht u cant watch movies on it at places like
abc and cbs.com
