Playstation 2 Vs. Wii?
Question: I have a PS2 and was wondering if the wii's graphics are a lot better? People are always bashing wii's graphics, because they aren't as good as the other next gen. systems, but I just want to know how they compare to PS2.
Answers: Well the problem here is that very few developers aside from Nintendo, and a few others (like Capcom), don't seem to be putting the effort into using the Wii's full potential.
Technically speaking the PS2 was the LEAST powerful system last gen, with the GCN being around twice as powerful, and the Wii is about 2 times more powerful than the GCN. So in theory, Wii games should look WAY better than PS2 games, however, most devs, seem to be taking the cheap/short cut way out and just porting many PS2 games to the Wii.
However, there are a few games that show what the Wii can really do, like Metroid Prime 3, Super Mario Galaxy, and RE4 Wii (yeah it was on GCN too, but they touched it up a bit).

Also as we move into 2008, developers will be rushing less to get games produced and will (hopefully) start taking their time and producing quality games so that we can truly see what the Wii is capable of, not just graphically, but in terms of motion controls and gameplay depth as well.
But no, even if the Wii went all out, it can't come close to PS3's graphical power. Maybe 360 though, because the 360 is held back by the fact that its games are on Regular DVDs and not HD DVDs or Blu Ray discs.

EDIT: The poster above me is mistaken I think. The PS2 does not have better graphics than the Wii, comparing the Wii's potential to the PS2 is like comparing Wii to PS3.

Wii, because you actually feel like you're in the game. Playstation 2 only has a controller that records your move ments by pressing buttons. Wii TOTALLY ROCKS!

If you don't think that the grpahics on a Wii don't look all that impressive then take a look at Super Mario Galaxy for the Wii.
