Concerning wireless headphones, which is better, radio or infared?

Question: I'm in the need of headphones and want to go wireless. I've perused a bunch but I really haven't been able to get any solid customer feedback on the sites I've looked over. Along with your answer can you provide any brand name recommendations and/or specific products that have worked well for you or that you've heard worked well for others. Thanks.
Answers: Both can be equally good or bad depedning on the brands you buy. As for infra vs RF, infrared needs a line of sight so if you move away from the view angle of your transmitter, you will hear static noise wheeras the RF does not require line of sight and RF but other radio equipments could interfere with the reception, eg: if you have an incoming cellphone call, it might create some noise on the RF headphone.
Definitely infared, I have radio, there went my $150 down the drain, about 5 feet away from transmitter and they mess up, and I don't have any good brands, because the ones I have are cruddy
now, now lets now assume ones better than the just because the one you have dont work good.
the truth is the quality on the radio sets depends on the signal and strength. i.e. if you get a 900 mhz it wont work very far at all, probably fuzz when you turn your head away from the transmitter. if you get a 2.4 ghz, if you or close neighbors have any phones on the same frequency you'll get static everytime it's in use.
ir (infared) on the other hand is line-of-sight so lets say you walk to the othe side of the room and something is in the line of sight between you and the transmitter, well here we go again... fuzz out.

get a good pair or radios. maybe a 5 ghz. just plan on getting something you can take home and test out. if you no like... you take back. also keep in mind the batteries. see if you can get on that recharges the batteries while it's docked. and dont forget it has to produce good sound too!

hope i helped a little. good luck.
