I was building a little siren project that called for a 1W 8ohm speaker but I got one with 'maximam wattage...

Question: ...of 0.2W. It's running fine , would it be ok?
The project said the power can be between 8V and 15V...I'm using 9V.
Answers: If you keep the volume down, it will be OK. The power that would damage the speaker would have to be much more than the 0.2 rating for some considerable time, or very high power pulses of extremely high or low frequency's. these would not be suitable for the siren frequency that you require as they would hardly be audible. If you intend to be fairly close to the speaker when it is working, this will limit the volume that you will use, this should limit damage to the speaker,
You gotta get a resistor in there somehere dude, to drop some power.
