If I am on my computer how can I fax a document from my computer to a fax machine in the same room?

There were some modems made that allow you to do this, but chances are that yours doesn't... if only by the virtue that you'd only buy such a modem if you knew what you were doing. Your best bet is to find two phone lines and have the modem fax it over normally.
