Plans for building a good subwoofer.?

Question: I'm looking to upgrade from my two JBL SRX728S subwoofers.

These are professional subs that are each rated 1,600 watts continuous, 3,200 watts program & 6,400 watts peak, so amplifier power should probably not be a problem for me. (Besides I'm willing to buy more amps if I will need them.)

I would like to keep the project cost under $5,000 if possible. But I'm willing to spend more if necessary.

I have experience in wood working, working with fiberglass & I have basic electronic repair/construction skills.
Answers: Bill Fitzmaurice's Titan 48 will blow those JBLs away.
They even out perform the EAW SB850R.

you can build a T48 loaded with a 3015LF for around $300 .

BTW musicman70913 since he's currently using JBL SRX728S subwoofers, it's pretty obvious he's using these outdoors, in a dance club, or some other large avenue. And Plexiglas? Are you serious? lol We're talking high volume subs here, not some wimpy sub crammed in the trunk of a car.
Where are u putting the subs, what kind of box are u making, etc.... need more info, use MDF board for wood parts any plexiglass u use in the box make sure u caulk or seal it in sum way otherwise ur wasting ur money, fiberglass is not fun to work with if u do plan on using it use the good stuff that can be molded, and most install places will build u a fiberglass box for about 1k and save u a lot of hassle
