My Yamaha Receiver keeps shutting down on its own.?

Question: I just bought a $800 receiver with new speakers from Paradigm. The receiver is a Yamaha RX-V1600 and it keeps shutting down by itself. At first I thought maybe it's the speakers, so I took out all the wires leaving only the receiver by itself. But it still shuts down. I am so frustrated. Please help.
Thanks
Answers: TAKE IT BACK!!!!!!!!!!! AND GET A REPLACEMENT,
Might have shorted out the amp, or possibly a very bad ground problem. Take the unit back to the dealer and have is exchanged. I own numerous pieces of Yamaha equipment and I often never had problems. The 1600 is also a great receiver, a lot of very cool features.
Sounds like a manufacturer defect. Normally this happens when one of the + and - wires are touching somewhere between the receiver and one or more of the speakers. Since this doesn't sound like the case, there is a problem with the reciever.

make sure that it is running the right Omh's there might be a phyical switch set on 4, and the Paradigm are running 8, or vise-vera

also make sure the sleep timmer is not on for some reason

Yamaha does have a 2 year warity on it, and Best buy and some other stores will send it back for you
What model of Paradigm speakers are you using? does the receiver's housing feel hot? Sounds like a short circuit! check that the impedence selector setting is correct; s/ b 8ohms for your speakers. If the impedence setting is correct, then check that the speaker wires are not touching each other. If that doesn't solve the problem return it for a Denon or a Harmon Kardon...just jokin.
