My dvd player suddenly quit working. It is unable to read the dvd. Is it time to buy a new player?

Answers: Ok you could buy a new one for 40 buck on up, or you could have it fixed by a professional and pay more than it is worth. Last but not least you could fix it yourself and save all the money, Take the top cover off the dvd player look for the laser eye clean it with a dry qtip(do not use any chemicals) twirl the qtip on the eye without pushing down very hard just light enough to clean the dust off.
yeah it is cheaper than getting it fixed
Try different DVD's sometime the DVD burn was unsuccessful even for retail discs. Or tey a cleaing kit for your DVD player. If all else fails buy a new one they are really cheap these days.
Either the disc is scratched or the lens is dirty. I recommend trying one of those cleaning kits you can get at technology stores.
i would say buy a new one cheaper than having other one fixed.
Try Leon's idea first. You can find one at Radio Shack.
