Will rg-59 video cables with rca connectors provide hd quality pictures?

What type of signal are you sending over the cable? Is this a cable or satellite feed? You generally need RG6 for those. If you're only sending a component video signal, a couple of meters shouldn't hurt at all.
Component Video, no matter how hard you try, will not allow HD Quality, unless the signal transmitted is a HiDef signal (480p/i 720p/i 1080p/i). Check your manuals to see if your equipments supports Hi Defiinition and how to enable it.
