HOW DO i GET THE DTS MODE ON MY DENON HOME 7.1 THEATER SYSTEM TO COME ON? I HAVE A PS2 AS MY DVD AND NO LIGHT

Question: I got it at frys and its silver. I have an optical cable and all that. Do i need a coax cable? is it in the programing of tthe unit? does anyone know? Help!!
Answers: Alright, the person above is correct in stating that whichever movie/game you are using must be encoded with a DTS soundtrack and only certain ones are. From the DVD or game menu, you have to go into audio options and select the DTS soundtrack to be played instead the default Dolby Digital.

Also...and this where everyone gets mixed up...you must first go into your setup menu on the PS2 and find audio options. There should be a section where you can alter the digital output and where it says DTS you must first turn it on and then select bitstream as the output.

Assuming you have all this criteria, your receiver should automatically detect the DTS signal, light the logo on the display, and decode your movies with no problem. Good luck and enjoy!
ur avatar background is pink.............
It will only light if the game you are playing has a DTS soundtrack. You will be able to access the different soundtracks in the options menu of the game. The light on your receiver will automatically change with whatever you select on the console.
Are you gay? Your avatar is very feminine, you look like justin hooberfag.
Wtf! Why are you guys bashing this man because he has a pink background? Even if he is a homosexual, that is non of your buisness and you have no right to make fun of him! (It just goes to show your maturity level)

And now that that has been said, I must agree with the person above who stated that the dvd must be be dts compliant and the ps2 configured correctly from its option menu. If this does not work, try going under the settings of the game itself; it may have to be switched to surround sound mode. I do not know the capabilities of your home reciever, but it might not be able to decode a dts signal from your optical cable. Most optical spdif inputs can only decode upmixed stereo (ie. dolby prologic) unless the reciever/unit has a chip that is capable of decoding dts through an optical imput. This processing of surround sound through an optical cable/toslink is called Dolby Digital Live (DDL). I would advise checking with your reciever manufacturer to see if It supports DDL. If your reciever does not support DDL through an optical imput, I suggest that you then use your coaxial connection. However, you might want to check to see if your ps2 is capable of outputting dts through coax; if not, then you won't get the surround sound experience.
I hope that this will help you resolve your problem. Best of luck!
