How can you erase VHS tapes completely?
Question: If it is already taped on and you want it blank, what is an easy, quick way to erase them?
Answers: taping over them removes most of the mangetic imprint that was there before hand.
if you want it clean and shadow free use metal tapes and drag a very strong magnet over them, like rubash magnets from construction crews they clean up nails and things with.
sorry to say once regular vhs tapes are recorded several times, they tend to start leaving shadows of what use to be there, and once erased by magnet a few times they they will stop grabbing magnetic images placed on them also.
if you are not doing a public report or something and you simply want it erased unpul it from the tv and pucnh up record overnight, if the am you will have a no picture tape
throw them away!!!
Just record a blank screen!
set your recorder to a non existent channel, then start recording, and let it run
Make a pile. Light a match. Buy a DVD player! :)
Grab a magnet or anything magnetic and just drag it across
get a new one dummie
Just set your tv to a station that isn't tuned in so that is fuzzy, and start recording with the tape. You will get a completely wiped tape when it's run all the way through.
Use an electric bulk magnetic tape eraser. This will erase everthing on the tape very fast.
You have to record your tape over a blank channel. (ex. channel 999)
just record a blue screen eg line 1, av 1.
a BIG magnet works very well and extremly fast
