Was just wondering, what is the difference between sony DVPNS70H dvd player the DVPNS75H dvd player?

Answers: The DVP-NS70H is the older model while the DVP-NS75H is the newer model.

Other than that, they are practically identical. VideoHelp.com is showing the 70 can play VCD and SVCD, while it is unknown on the 75. However, there have been many more people that have posted about the 70 on VideoHelp.com

If you are still in the market for a DVD player in that price range. I would avoid Sony, their DVD players are mediocre at best. The Toshiba 4980 or 4990 are going to be a better buy. Both support an array of video formats, including VCD, SVCD and even Divx and Xvid along with Mp3 support (which is common now), but also WMA. They also have a better up-scaling chip in them, so they will give you a better picture.
DVPNS70H cannot playback SVCD and VCD discs but the DVPNS75H doesn't have the smooth scan technology. As far as I can decipher, the DVPNS75H is compatible with more types of discs.

..and price of course
probably $50.00 bucks or so.
