Which TV system is the best ? Plasma or LCD ?
Answers: I would go with LCD. Easier and cheaper to fix. Works better at higher altitudes also. You most likely won't see plasma's on an airplane. Used to be that the blacks were better on a plasma, but LCD technology has progressed to the point where they are just as good if not better than Plasmas in that area.

DLP is better than both. Its bigger but if you want a better TV overall than DLP is the way to go. Better res than a plasma by far.
LCD is going to be the MOST RELIABLE design over DLP or Plasma or LCOS.....but LCOS is awwwwwwfully close to LCD, it's 2nd in my experience!
I think LCD's are better just because plasmas are more fragile and if it needs repaired more expensive.
PLASMA. Plasmas have a bad rep for burn-in and life span. Those perceptions were true, but not any more. Many panels have burn-in-reduction features, such as screensavers and pixel orbiting, or settings to treat burn-in once it occurs, such as causing the screen to go all white. The first 100 hours are critical, so you should keep contrast low (less than 50 percent) and avoid showing static images or letterbox bars on the screen for hours at a time Also, plasmas nowadays can last up to 10 years.
LCD televisions are pretty inexpensive, until you get anything past 42 inches. The native resolution is higher, but there isn't that much noticable difference. The reason I prefer the plasma is because the LCD's picture changes (color and brightness)when you're watching from anywhere besides directly in front of it. With a plasma, the picture stays the same from any angle.
Basically, if you want something below 42 inches and the color shifting from side angles doesn't bother you, you should go with LCD. If you want something larger with no color shifts, go with plasma.

i can say Plasma is great because it's new and many more features but ir you want a tv that will stay long it's the LCD not because it's the cheeper one but because it's more good efficient and compare to the Plasma there has a week point that it can stay for 3 yrs and if you will change the weak point it's like a price of the LCD
They are both good, and have excellent picture quality. But there are differences:
Picture quality of plasma is brighter, better color, better blacks than LCD.
But LCD pictures can look quite good; we’re not talking huge differences.
Sharpness is the same for equivalent pixel counts. Some newer LCDs have 1080 x 1920 resolution, most plasmas still in the 768 x 1024 range.
Plasma is heavier and uses more power than flat panel LCD.
There are reports that plasmas are not as reliable or they don't last as long, but that is no longer true with the latest models. (Both LCD and plasmas have 60,00hr expected lifetime.) Plasma phosphors dim slowly over time (but not as fast as CRT phosphors); but direct view LCDs use flourescent lamps which also dim and eventually burn out (some are replaceable). Projection LCD sets have bulbs of limited life, but are replaceable and the lifetime is a few thousand hours of viewing.
Plasmas are subject to burn-in. A stationary image left on the screen for a long time could produce a permanent ghost image. The most risk is when viewing a lot of 4:3 ratio pictures (non-HD), which are displayed with vertical dark areas on the left and right to fill in the wide screen. Newer plasma designs have minimized this problem and here are ways to avoid it: many sets have a stretch mode which widens the picture to fill the whole screen, or will use gray bars instead of black bars. Burn-in also be a problem with extended playing of video games if there is a background image that remains stationary.
Plasmas come in larger sizes, although large flat panel LCDs are coming out, but they are expensive. LCD projectors can be 70 .
LCD contrast and brightness can be reduced when viewing from off-center (both flat and projector, but sets will vary). At present, plasmas have very reflective front surfaces which could be a problem in room with lamps and windows that can be reflected by the screen. LCDs look better in bright environments, while plasmas look better in darker rooms.
