What is the best subwoofer for around $500.00 for a home theater?
Answers: Velodyne, like other suggested, is going to give you a lot for the money.
I would also suggest looking at Paradigm, I have played with entire line of subs, from the PDR, PS, PSW and even the Servo 15 and the new Signature one. Paradigm gives you an exception value for your money.
PSB and Energy are also worth a look, as they are a lot like Paradigm. They give you a lot for your money.
Speakers are a matter of personal preference, so there is no one right answer here. PLus, there is alot of hype on the market about what's good & bad. I bought a used Boston Acoustics PV-600 on eBay, and am running it with my Denon 3805 (and other Boston speakers) and LOVE it. Tight clean bass, not boomy. I think I paid about $300 for it. It shakes the entire house & scares small animals.
try velodyne (i own one very awesome )
yes velodyne - i aggree...
The first poster is right, speakers are mostly personal prefernce. However if your fishing for advice I am using two Martin Logan Dynamos (www.martinlogan.com) and they sound great. Also, a few posters recommended velodyne. Their DLS3500R is not to shabby either (www.velodyne.com). If I was getting a sub, personally these are the only two brands I would consider for $500.
