How do I know if my dvd player plays dvds from all regions? I dont have my booklet?
Answers: If you bought it in North America and it's a well-known brand name it will probably only play Region 1 discs...meaning from here in North America. But, occasionally, a cheaper brand...a Wal-Mart special,lol...will play discs from other regions including european PAL discs. You might want to search online for your dvd brand's web site. Often the manufacturer offers downloadable manuals that will tell you what you need to know.
It doesn't. Unless you got some super special one from a spy organization like the CIA or from a company that manufacturers them for all over the world and they made a special one I don't believe there are ANY players that will play ALL regions.
That said, however, there ARE programs that will detect and remove or change the region code from a particular DVD on a computer and allow you to burn a new DVD with whatever region code you wish. IF you're pirating this is illegal to do. But if you perhaps bought a bunch of DVD's while you lived in a different region and then moved to a new region and got a new player, IMO it should be OK, to make copies with a correct Region code for where you now live. You'd have to talk to a lawyer to be sure on that.
And one other thing. There is a special Region Code 0 (zero) that was created JUST for disks that someone wanted to be playable in ALL regions. Most DVD players sold in the USA play Region codes 0 and 1 but not any others.
