How to bulid a powerd subwoofer for home system?

Answers: i just put a jl audio 15w3 in a car box in the corner and hooked it up to an old stereo receiver from the sub out on my surround sound receiver and it shakes windows but if you can find a home sub amp and hook it up to a car sub it will sound good depending on the quality of the sub use a 15 jl audio or MTX they are the best with 150+ watts
It will be a whole lot easier to go out and buy one. not to mention cheaper.... box.. woofers... crossover... powersupply... match it all to your current speakers... the list goes on and on
Buy a speaker and build a box for it in the design you want. Not to hard to do.
Alot of people laughed at me when I built mine. . .I used an old 15 no name sub from my car stereo days and a 150 watt audiosource amp out of a blown 10 home audio sub that I bought at a garage sale. I just used the 15s box out of my old car and I cut out a hole for the audiosource amp. I used 14 gauge monster cable inside. When I got everything hooked up, I was blown away. Believe it or not, it sounds awesome. I have a 7 speaker Definitive surround sound system, and I have yet to find a better sounding sub. I have looked for about 4 or 5 years now and the closest sound I found was a $1600 Klipsch sub. I will stick with my ghetto sub! I constantly receive compliments on it ( I keep it well hidden lol ). As long as no one sees it, everyone thinks I spent a fortune on the sub.
