Do dark walls and ceilings really help with front projectors?
Answers: It depends who you ask. The wall color will typically have a greater effect than the ceiling color, but it depends on the height of the ceiling and how close it is to the screen. Anyway, when a room is totally dark (which is how it should be to get the best image from a front projector) the light reflected from your projection screen is again reflected off the walls surrounding your screen. Since dark colors don't reflect as much light as lighter colors, they help keep the ambient light in the room to a minimum. This can be good for a couple reasons. 1. It keeps the room darker, giving the effect that the room is bigger than it really is and 2. As I mentioned earlier, the darker the room, the better the image on screen will be. The decision is preference and should be decided by whoever uses the projector most often. Hope this helps. Good luck!
Well, if the lights aren't off, then yes, I could see where they would be of some help, but if the lights are already off, then no, I don't think so.
