How do I hook up a powered sub woofer with the wire used in my pre-wired home?
Question: The wire they used is made up of two very thin wires (not sure the gauge) and a ground. Can I just add a male RCA connector to each end?
Answers: It should work no matter what wire is used. The signal level is very minimal and the currents are even less impressive. Moreover as it's a powered sub, you can adjust the gain should the wire cause losses.
Better wire is always better, but go for it.
I would go with monster cables, at least a 9 gauge.
