What is wrong with ZENITH XBR617 DVD/VCR Combo Player?
Question: Purchased a ZENITH XBR617 DVD/VCR Combo Player to convert all my home video (VHS) cassettes to DVDs. I used dubbing function and converted a VHS cassette to DVD. But that DVD is not working in my other DVD players(Sony, coby) and in my computer too. Is there any setup I have to do to make those DVDs work on other DVD players. Please advise.
Answers: Its probably one of two things.
1. You are not finalizing the disk, you must finalize a disk to use it anywhere other than in its creating player
2. You are creating a DVD+R and trying to play it in a player that only plays DVD-R or vice versa
Are you burning in 1 format and playing back in another?
Example: If you burn in the + format, and try to play it back on a player that only reads -, it won't work.
Also, make sure that you are finalizing the disks. (Only an issue if the disk won't playback on any machine)
