My stupid dvd player!!need help?

Question: ok before you answer, you should know what this is http://i15.tinypic.com/47m7ts2.jpg ok the wires in the picture are what I'm having problems with...I think, ok anyway- this morning I got a new dvd and excitedly went home to watch it, I stick it in the dvd player and this weird screen shows up like the screen is rolling vertically kina like this http://www.fotosearch.com/ALU222/tvn_43/ but of coarse the movie is actuallt coming on, like I can watch the whole movie, its just that the bars make it annoying and blurry....I know this is the hardest thing ever..lol. anyway my REAL QUESTION IS is there any other way to play the dvd w/o the yellow video wire? because the audio wire works perfectly, but its just the video wire that is causing the rolling bars, take a look at this http://i9.tinypic.com/2w5ras3.jpg ok.. so is there ANY WAY TO PLAY A DVD W/O THE VIDEO WIRE?
Answers: Try getting a
new video cable.
If you still have the
problems, and if your
TV or receiver has this
connection, go with a dig-
ital coaxial connection, or use
a component video (three cables).
Buy new wires?
I suppose you can play with just the audio wires. But then all you would get is audio. So if you really don't care about seeing video, then don't use the video.

Try another DVD in it. Is it still doing the same thing? If you do not want to use the rca jacks anymore, your dvd player should have at least one other type of connection port on the back. Try another type of connector.
if u wann ur DVD player to work better than u must be having the head cleaner DVD /CD .put it & clean device head. if it doen't work than connect ur DVD to the PC & then a windows software will help u to clean the dust & xtra leftover image data on the RAM & internal playing capability of ur DVD PLAYER.
i see immediately to the left of your wires you have a S-VIDEO input-try this leave the red and white inputs in the tv-buy an S-VIDEO lead from your local retailers and connect the two using this-your picture should then be fine once the desired input is selected on your remote control-before this ensure your DVD player has an S-VIDEO output.
