Cordless Phone losing signal?

Question: Recently set up a phone system with one corded phone and two cordless extensions that do not need to be plugged into a phone jack. Went to use a cordless handset after it was charged and there was no dial tone, tried the corded phone, no dial tone there either. Found out that the phone did not ring in the house after several attempts by friends...any thoughts???
Answers: Did you do any wiring or add a jack when you did this set up? If so, recheck your work, a conductor may have shorted or broken after initially working. Before calling the phone company try your corded phone in the box on the side of your house. This will prove whether the problem is inside or outside, If it's outside it's the phone company's responsibility to fix it.
Sounds like a wire got cut somewhere. even when the power is out a wired phone should have a dial tone I use mine during power outages all the time you have a problem in the phone line I suggest contacting your provider and explaining that the line to your house is malfunctioning, they should be able to fix it.
