What's the best MP3 player?

Question: What do you think is the best MP3 player? I'm particularly interested in one under $300, but a little more is okay, I want it to hold lots of songs (thousand+), and many, many pictures (at least 500, preferably more). rechargable batteries are okay, but I prefer disposables, are there any players i can get that can use both?
thanks for your help, it's greatly appreciated.
Answers: I have a Creative Zen Microphoto. 8GB. I have over 1200 Yahoo Music subscription songs on it with 1GB to spare which will get you a couple hundred photos. It's PlaysForSure compatible. Rechargable batteries with a typical working life about 10 hours of play time. Maybe longer. They claim 12 hours I think. The Microphoto won CNet's best music player for 2005 Consumer Electronics Show.
It's around $225.

There is also the Creative Zen Vision: M. 30GB. Holds about 5000 subscription songs (192kbps). Holds more than 500 pictures. Plays video. Creative claims 14 hours of play time on the rechargable battery. Won CNet's best of music player and best of show for 2006 Consumer Electronics Show. Just around $280 - $330. What I would have gotten if I didn't already have the Microphoto.

If you don't want an ipod, I've heard good things about the iriver, or creative zen.
Probably an iPod, but it doesn't use disposable batteries though.
Check out Sony's new Beanz. 3 minutes of charge for 3 hours. It's cheap and holds up to 128 or 256 mb of songs. That's like about 30 - 60 songs.
It's really small too, easily one of the smallest, has a direct flip up USB that can connect directly to your PC, no wires.

You can try Creative. The designs are pretty cool. Creative Zen, MuVo (it's a 2-in-1 mp3 player and usb drive). Creative is a very reputable company and the goods are of good quality.
You can get up to 20GB of songs and stuff and it's cheaper than the overrated ipod.

Of course, if image works best for you, get the ipod. It's a status symbol than anything. The ipod Shuffle is cheap and can set you back less an US$200 if you get the 512mb one.
only go for ipod 30GB. it costs only 299$. moreover it's too slim and well-designed. it can also offer up to 20 hours of music playback plus ability to show movie and picture.
