Unwritten Dvd zone protected?

Question: Hi
i wonder if unwritten DVD is zoneprotected like comercial movies?
Answers: no there is not if you buy blank dvds there is no copy protection on them so you can write to them.im not sure what u mean by zone protected but i know that they are not copy pro tected. u should get sony blank dvds they have the best quality and nero 7 to copy dvds and all that kinda stuff copy to your hard drive to. download at nero.com and use anydvd to take off the protection for commercial dvds slysoft.com or anydvd.com hope this helps!
I am assuming you mean region-protected, as in Region 1 being USA. No, blank DVD's are blank DVD's. Copyright and region-specific DVD's are programmed by the author of the DVD. For example, you can create your own DVD movie and configure it to be copyright protected and for only the USA region. You can copy a commercial DVD and strip the copyright and make it region free. Of course, this is illegal, but it can be done with the appropriate software.
