HDTV I hear a lot about it in UK?

Question: If I buy a telly that is HDTV ready, does that mean it will receive HDTV as it is, or will it need an add on like a HDTV tuner, just like the early video players were players and not recorders
Answers: HDTV ready means it is set up ready to HD format information etc.. the only way you can get 100% HD is with sky hd in may in the UK. if you need more help message me.
This depends on your cable service. Most of them do not require you to purchase a new tuner, instead they rebroadcast the available HD channels on a separate set of channels. Here where I live in the USA channel 5 is rebroadcast in HD as 503.
buy it, you will not be sorry, hd is coming all though it may be here somewhat it will all be hd soon, and if your set is not hd you will have to get a converter and it will not be cheap. we bought 32 hd Panasonic last year and it`s beautiful now we thought about going bigger but to really get a nice set you must shell out the dough or your big screen will not produce such a nice picture.
